Maths efficiency: calculators or phones? In-Person
It’s understandable why we use our phones for everyday calculations but are they the most effective tool for a university course? The right type of calculator not only helps with fractions and percentages but will also solve equations, perform statistical calculations, and tackle problems involving matrices, vectors and even complex numbers. Calculators don’t eat into your data allowance and, very importantly, can be used in exams!
This workshop will give you the chance to try out a popular Casio calculator – the Classwiz fx991EX - and decide whether it is an improvement on your phone. If you already own a calculator, bring it along and we can try to find any hidden applications.
