Critical Thinking – Why do you think what you think? Online

We tend to think that the decisions we make, the opinions we hold, and the arguments we put forward are based on evidence and rational thought. That is often not the case. This session will explore one of the obstacles to critical thinking in academic work (and everywhere else) – confirmation bias. We’ll look at how it affects our thought processes and consider some of the ways we can minimise its effects, highlighting why it is important to do so.
