Book an Appointment or Tutorial - Assistive Technology

Make an appointment in 3 steps. Step 1: Select a staff member. Step 2: Select an available date. Step 3: Select an available timeslot.

All Assistive Technology (AT) tutorial slots open two weeks in advance. If there are no appointments available, please check again in a few days when new appointment slots may be available.

We also have our drop-in session in the Learning Development Zone, Kimberlin Library, every Monday, 2-3pm.

Assistive Technology and Digital Partner LibChat is available online weekly via https://library.dmu.ac.uk/libchats. LibChat hours: https://dmu-ac-uk.libcal.com/hours/.

If you wish to contact AT or the Library Disability Services, email libdis@dmu.ac.uk.

To find out more about the support available in the Library, visit the Library Disability Services Guide.

You can see the AT officer about …

  • An overview of all AT software in the Library
  • Finding AT software that can help with your studies
  • How to make text accessible (PDFs, Docs, Web pages and eBooks)
  • How to use the Make It Accessible text conversion service with Sensus Access (PDF to Word, JPEG to Word, etc.)
  • How to use speech-to-text software with Microsoft Word
  • A specific assistive software (click on the button below to see the full list)

Upon completion of booking please ensure you have the right time for your tutorial by checking the body of the confirmation email you will receive: this will confirm the location and time.

To allow as many students as possible to access our service, a maximum of one tutorial per week can be booked with Assistive Technology (AT).

If you book multiple tutorials, your first appointment will be kept. The remaining AT appointments for that week will be cancelled. You will receive an email confirming the cancellation.
